Police arrest wanted felon in Colorado Springs following K9 chase

Colorado Springs police arrested a wanted felon Thursday afternoon following a K9 chase.

Authorities were called to the area of 19th and Uintah St. for something unrelated when they saw 28-year-old Zachary Burns.

Burns was wanted on multiple violent felony arrest warrants.

Officers called CSPD K9 officers to the area and set them up in a position in case Burns tried to run.

Upon contact with the officers, Burns ran and the officers chased him towards the K9 unit.

A canine warning was given and Burns still continued to run. The K9 was then deployed and Burns quickly dove to the ground and surrendered.
