08/14/19 Forecast Discussion

Tonight: Scattered showers and thunderstorms are currently developing across the I-25 corridor. The biggest concerns for the storms in regard to El Paso and Pueblo Counties will be brief but heavy rainfall, small hail, and strong wind gusts. The thunderstorms will track east through the evening and strengthen, with the potential for large hail and strong winds across the far eastern Colorado Plains. Gradually becoming mostly clear overnight for the HWY 50 and I-25 corridors with lows in the mid-50’s to low 60’s.

Thursday: Mostly sunny skies for the majority of the day, helping temperatures reach about 10 degrees above average. Low 90’s for El Paso county and high 90’s for HWY 50. Isolated mountain showers are possible during the early afternoon, but the coverage and severity of storms will be low.

Extended: This heatwave will last through the weekend forecast with isolated rain showers during the afternoons.
