UPDATE: Victim and suspect identified in shooting at Colorado Springs nightclub

Update: The victim of Saturday’s shooting at a Colorado Springs nightclub has been identified as 19-year-old La Jayzia Cannon of Colorado Springs.

The suspect has been identified as 23-year-old Gary McCallister Jr., of Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri.

CSPD arrested McCallister on August 3 in Colorado Springs for Murder in the Second Degree. He has been booked into the El Paso County Criminal Justice Center.

A woman is dead and two other men are in the hospital with gunshot wounds after a shooting early Saturday morning at a nightclub in north Colorado Springs.

Colorado Springs police say that shortly before 2 a.m., officers were called to a shooting at The Social, a nightclub near N. Academy Boulevard and Carefree Circle.

Police found a woman and man suffering from gunshot wounds, and they were taken to the hospital. The woman later died, and the man was reported to be in critical condition. Later, another man was found at the hospital with a gunshot wound from the same incident.

Police haven’t released any information about what led up to the shooting, and it’s not clear if a suspect has been identified or is in custody. CSPD says the case is being investigated as a homicide.
