Flash flooding possible for burn scar areas today – 8/7/19

TODAY: Storms will pop up over the mountains between noon and 3pm today. They will then become more widespread and will push east over I-25 during the evening drive. Locally heavy rain and lightning is possible today. If one of these heavier storms moves over a burn scar, flash flooding will be possible. Most areas will see less than 0.25″ of rain, but localized totals of 1″+ are possible. Highs will be in the 80s, 90s and 100s again today.

TONIGHT: Drying out after 9PM with slow clearing through morning. Lows will be in the 60s and 50s tonight. 70s are likely over the plains and in areas that see more clouds.

EXTENDED: Thursday brings more of the same, along with the chance for a severe storm or two. This pattern sticks with us through Friday before storm chances start to decrease over the weekend.
