A few Colorado Springs residents have started a petition to change the name of a neighborhood street from Trump Avenue to Immigrant Avenue.
It’s worth noting that the street wasn’t named after the 45th President of the United States given that some of its houses were built in the ’50s and ’60s.
But that isn’t stopping them from petitioning the City of Colorado Springs Mayor John Suthers to change the name of the street.
“Many visitors to our city may believe Trump Avenue is named after President Donald J. Trump,” the petition reads on Change.org. “As the Olympic City, we should stand for inclusion.”
