Man arrested following standoff in Pueblo

A man is arrested following a standoff at a home in the Boone area of Pueblo.

KRDO was able to obtain an exclusive interview with Alyson Easterwood and Taylor Baldridge, who were shot at last night.

Easterwood and Baldridge tell us they were spending time with their roommate, Robert Morgan, when an altercation ensued. Morgan began firing shots in their direction.

“I’ve never seen a man flip his switch to where the people that are your friends become a target,” Baldridge told KRDO’s Dani Fried.

“He [Morgan] said, ‘I’m going to shoot both of y’all.’ He went back in the back room, and I see him come out with a shotgun and I get [Alyson] out the door first and said ‘run baby.’ He was very close behind me and I heard three shots,” Baldrige told us, describing the scene.

It was 10:30 Wednesday night, while hiding behind a tree, that Easterwood called police.

Morgan then barricaded himself in the home while deputies scrambled to cover any exits and get Easterwood and Baldridge to safety.

“He wanted to kill us, he was trying to find us to kill us,” a tearful Eastwood explained.

The SWAT team showed up, and after three hours, Morgan comes out peacefully and is arrested.

Eastwood and Baldridge tell us they feel lucky to be alive and thank the Pueblo County Sheriff’s Office for saving their lives and the life of their unborn child.
