3rd Annual Freedom Fest kicks off next weekend

The third annual Fort Carson and the 4th Infantry Division Freedom Fest kicks off next weekend at Iron Horse Park.

The carnival and celebration honoring military personnel and their families will be open to the general public from 2 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday, June 28 and 29. The carnival will be open on Sunday, June 30 exclusively for Department of Defense ID cardholders and their guests from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Entry to the park is free, but additional fees will apply to carnival attractions, food, and merchandise. A host of scheduled wrist band activities will be available including face painting, gold panning, a rock wall, dunk tank, and a Glow Fun Run.

This year’s celebration will feature a free concert on Friday at 4 p.m. sponsored by the Fort Carson Directorate of Family and Morale Welfare and Recreation (DFMWR) in partnership with Jon Eddy Productions. The line-up will feature local and country music artists.
