Slush and snow blanket roads in southern Colorado

A springtime winter storm moved across Colorado Monday and left roads covered in icy slush.

The snow started coming down in the afternoon and didn’t let up throughout the evening. By 8 p.m., most major roads in the Springs were brought to a crawl due to the adverse conditions.

High winds were reported in the eastern part of El Paso County, and some areas could get up to six inches of snow or more.

The heavy snow also caused many tree limbs to be downed across the area.
