Colorado Springs police arrest suspects, recover stolen rifle and vehicle

A 21-year-old man who was involved in a police standoff and attempted to sell stolen items was taken into custody for several warrants Thursday morning.

Police were investigating a car break-in near Portal Park when they were lead to Matthew Kingery after he attempted to sell one of the stolen items.

Upon attempting contact with Kingery, a brief standoff occurred. Kingery along with a female suspect, who later identified as 19-year-old Shannon Dungan, were taken into custody without incident.

Authorities recovered a stolen rifle and stolen vehicle from the scene. The investigation is ongoing.
