UPDATE: Sand Creek High School lockdown has ended, suspect still at large

Colorado Springs Police say Sand Creek High School is no longer on lockdown, and the police activity that prompted it has ended.

Just before 5:30 am, CSPD responded to a robbery in progress. Police stopped the three suspects at gunpoint after they tried to flee in a green SUV. Two of the suspects complied and were taken into custody but the third ran and is still at large.

Police are looking for a male suspect but do not have a description of him yet.

Sand Creek High School has resumed operations and is safe and secure.

Sand Creek High School is on lockdown due to police activity in the area.

The Colorado Springs Police Department tells KRDO Newschannel 13 officers are looking for armed suspects in the area.

There is a large police presence in the area. Students and staff are asked not to report to the school until the situation is resolved. Neighbors are also asked to shelter in place.

Police say this is not related to the school closings in the Denver area.
