Colorado Springs gas prices rise 33 cents a gallon over the past month

Colorado Springs gas prices continue to climb.

On Monday, GasBuddy reported that gas prices in Colorado Springs are 33.6 cents per gallon higher than a month ago. The average cost of a gallon of gas in Colorado Springs is now $2.62.

Colorado Springs isn’t the only place seeing an increase in gas prices, the national average price of gas has risen 7.4 cents per gallon in the last week.

According to petroleum analyst Dan McTeague, refinery outages on the west coast and in California have tightened summer blend gasoline ahead of the summer travel season.

“With California pump prices now firmly over $4 a gallon, the march to $4.15 may be attained in the weeks ahead before any relief, while the rest of the nation faces the prospect of $3 a gallon by month’s end,” McTeague said.
