4-11-19 Sam’s weather discussion

Today: A few light snow flurries are possible this afternoon in Colorado Springs. No accumulation is expected. That strong cold front that crossed through Colorado yesterday has cooled us off drastically. This morning we were measuring our 24-hour temperature change at right around -40 degrees. It really won’t warm up much over the next few days either, with highs in the 40’s till Sunday. Wind speeds today will start to calm down by late evening. Still breezy during the afternoon though with wind gusts to about 30mph.

Tonight: Gradual clearing overnight to partly cloudy skies and temperatures in the low 20’s. Winds become light at 5-10mph and stay calm through our Friday forecast.

Friday: The winds will not be a problem but we are looking at more snow chances. Temperatures will be in the mid 40’s in the afternoon. By about 2pm a few rain showers will cross into El Paso County then change to snow overnight. At the moment, snow accumulation is looking minimal. But enough to cause a few slick roads out there for Saturday morning.
