19-year-old arrested by Canon City police for sex assault on a child

A 19-year-old man from Penrose was arrested Wednesday for an outstanding warrant for sexual assault on a child.

The Canon City Police Department arrested Ishmael Sapp on the warrant and said he’s also under investigation in several other “similar cases.”

Details of the accusation against Sapp weren’t released.

CCPD says there may be additional victims of sexual assault by Sapp; if you have information about those incidents, call 719-276-5600.
