Colorado National Guard activated to help stranded motorists

The Colorado National Guard has been activated by Gov. Jared Polis ahead of Wednesday’s expected blizzard conditions.

About 50 soldiers with the Colorado National Guard will be patrolling the front range to help anyone stranded by the weather. They’ll be in more than 20 vehicles specifically outfitted for the blizzard response.

The blizzard is expected to create hazardous conditions along roadways north of Colorado Springs later Wednesday and into Thursday. CDOT urged drivers to stay off the roads if possible.
