Southern Colorado highways reopen following blizzard

Southern Colorado drivers woke up Friday morning to all highways being open following Wednesday’s blizzard.

At one point on Wednesday, I-25, Hwy 24, Hwy 94, I-70, Mesa Rd. and East Woodmen Rd. were all closed due to whiteout and hazardous driving conditions.

The City of Colorado Springs was placed on Accident Alert status Wednesday morning, it was later taken off Accident Alert status at 8:40 a.m. Friday.

KRDO crews experienced slick and snow-packed roads specifically on East Woodmen Friday morning, continue to use caution on the roads.

Due to the storm and wet roads, the City of Pueblo conducted pothole repairs Thursday and Friday. Drivers in Pueblo should expect rolling lane closures and possible delays along the following state highways in the Pueblo area:

U.S. 50 U.S. 50 Business State Highway 45 State Highway 47 State Highway 96
