1 dead, 1 injured after shooting in Canon City

Canon City police are investigating what happened after they found a man bleeding outside of a house Monday morning and then found a dead man inside.

CCPD says officers responded to a reported shooting at about 9:14 a.m. near 200 W. New York Ave. (MAP) and found the injured man. He was taken to the hospital with “minor injuries,” according to a police report. It’s not clear if he’s facing charges.

The deceased man hasn’t been identified yet.

Police say there’s no threat to the community and everyone involved has been accounted for, but the investigation is still going on.
