Colorado dog back home after lost for over 3 months

A Colorado dog is back home after surviving in and around a mountain town for over three months.

KDVR-TV reports Prince escaped after owner Kari Yarbrough of Colorado Springs was in a car crash near Buena Vista on Oct. 22 and she was taken to jail failing to appear at a previous court hearing.

She searched for Prince, sometimes camping out, with the help of local animal advocate Monika Courtney. They set traps, tracked paw prints and responded to sightings before finally finding Prince Jan. 26 behind a church in town.

Yarbrough says Prince lost about 25 pounds (11 kilograms) and was covered but mostly in good shape. A video posted on a fundraising site to defray the search costs shows him wolfing down food at the veterinarian shortly after he was found.
