One person dead in fire near downtown Colorado Springs

One person is dead after a fire at a home in the 300 block of North Institute Street and police are now investigating the death as suspicious.

On Saturday night, westbound Platte Avenue is closed at North Institute Street while crews are on the scene.

According to CSFD, the fire included a residential garage.

Colorado Springs Police have been called in to investigate.
