La Junta Police Department looking to locate suspect in serious assault case

The La Junta Police Department needs your help locating the suspect involved in a serious assault.

Police say they showed up to the area of 7th Street and Raton Avenue in La Junta, Colorado, for a call regarding a man severely injured in an assault.

That male was transported to the emergency room in La Junta and then Pueblo.

The La Junta Police Department said on their official Facebook page, the victim died from his injuries after being in the hospital several days, however, they are asking for anyone with information to contact Detective Haley or Lieutenant Zgorzynski at (719) 384-2525.

They say the incident does not pose a threat to the community at this time.
