Weather Alert for Snow, Wind and Cold 1-21-19

TONIGHT: Windy with increasing clouds. Snow moves in around midnight through Teller County and along the Palmer Divide then spreads south. Gusts will be in the 60 mph range around the Palmer Divide, with gusts into the 40s and 50s elsewhere. When the snow combines with the strong winds, white out conditions are likely north of Colorado Springs.

This is why a blizzard warning is in place for the Palmer Divide from 9 PM tonight until 11 AM Tuesday. Travel will be dangerous during this timeframe and should be avoided all together. This snow spreads south toward the southern mountains through the overnight.

TOMORROW: Accumulations through northern Teller County will range from about 2-5″ with closer to 3-6+ for the Monument area and northern El Paso County. About 2-4″ will be possible through Briargate with around a Trace to 2″ for downtown Colorado Springs. South of Pueblo amounts will rise again with the Southern Mountains and Southern I-25 corridor seeing about 2-6″+ and a band of 2-4″ will be possible across portions of the Southeast Plains, mainly south of the Arkansas River. Snow will taper off during the day from northwest to southeast with highs staying in the 30s.
