Rare moment caught on camera: SeaWorld Orlando member feeds baby manatee

A photographer with National Geographic caught a rare moment on video.

Micheal George, the photographer of the children’s book named ‘Life at the Zoo,’ has explored how the zoo plays in the conservation, breeding, and rescue programs around the world.

During his experience, he caught a rare moment on camera that has since gone viral: a rescue member of SeaWorld Orlando feeding a baby manatee at their facility.

According to SeaWorld Orlando, their Rescue Team has saved a record number of 73 manatees, including several orphans. They say the orphaned manatees cannot survive on their own and often require around-the-clock care and bottle feeding.

SeaWorld says once the babies reach a healthy weight, they can survive on their own in the wild. The SeaWorld Rescue Team is on call 24/7, 365 days & has rescued over 33,000 animals to date.

The video has seen over 18,000 views on Instagram and been shared by hundreds.
