Marty’s Sunday Morning Forecast – Still Chilly – 1/13/19

Today: Slick spots will greet some travelers this morning due to leftover snow from the recent storm or the light dusting of snow some areas received last night. We expect some areas of fog this morning, and spotty snow showers may continue to develop occasionally over the mountains this afternoon, particularly south of the Arkansas River. Although we do not expect any significant accumulations of snow today, spotty mountain areas near the New Mexico state line could receive a quick inch or two under any stronger snow showers this afternoon. Most areas should just expect a mixture of clouds and sun today with high temperatures remaining cool in the 30s to lower 40s for most areas.

Tonight: The sky will become mostly clear along and west of I-25, but some patchy low clouds and fog will again be possible over the plains. We expect low temperatures to fall into the teens and 20s.

Extended: Expect dry conditions and a gradual warming trend next week with high temperatures eventually reaching the 40s and 50s for plains again. The clouds may be thick at times next week and some areas may be breezy at times. Late next week another storm looks to bring colder air and possibly a chance for snow back to the area.
