High Tech Hacks: Easier iPhone cursors, YouTube to GIF creator, and undo emails in Gmail

For this week’s ‘High Tech Hacks,’ we’re bringing you ways to make your life a little easier.

The first hack is for iPhone users. There’s an easier way to activate your cursor in order to jump around in sentences or paragraphs in text messages and social media posts.

What to do:

With your keyboard opened on your phone, hold down the space bar for a few seconds or until the cursor is activated. This should immediately allow you to move around a little easier to delete words or fix things in your sentences without having to go to the exact place in your message.

For the second hack, have you ever seen those pictures on social media that look like tiny, short videos? Well, they are called GIFs and there’s a quick way to make these using some of your favorite YouTube videos.

What to do:

With the YouTube video you want to use open, just type the letters g-i-f in front of YouTube on the address bar. Once you hit enter, the site should immediately redirect you to an instant GIF creator where you can get as creative as you want.

And for the third and final hack, this is directed towards those of you using Gmail as your source for email. If you’ve ever sent an email you didn’t want to, there’s a way of undoing it.

What to do:

Once you’ve pressed the send button, a message should pop up on the left-hand side of the screen asking if you’d like to UNDO the message. Hit the UNDO button and the email should pop back open without ever reaching its destination.

To activate this feature, go to the setting button on the top right-hand side of the Gmail screen and scroll down until you see “undo send:” section where you can customize how long you’d like to have for the undo option to be available after hitting send.
