Weather Alert Day – 1/11/19

TODAY: We start your Friday with steady snow in the mountains and Palmer Divide. Places above 6,800′ have the best chance of seeing snow through most of the afternoon. Lower elevations will be seeing primarily rain or a rain snow mix, so accumulation will occur later in the afternoon. Highs today will be in the 30s, so this will be a wet snow in areas where it is falling.

TONIGHT: Everyone sees snow past sunset when cooler air works into this storms. This will allow for a few hours of accumulation by midnight before things start tapering off. 1-3″ is likely in Springs and Pueblo, but mountain cities will be anywhere from 3-6+”. Southern Mountains will see a widespread 3-6″ of snow, with isolated totals near 10″. Lows tonight will be in the teens and 20s.

EXTENDED: Lingering snow showers will be found around Southern Colorado Saturday morning before it wraps up by noon. The rest of the day looks dry and chilly with temps in the 30s. Sunday brings a few more snow showers for higher elevation cities, but it doesn’t look to be a big problem.
