Air Force Academy midfielder drafter by Seattle Sounders

A recent Air Force Academy graduate is sticking to his ground game after being drafted by a Major League Soccer team Friday.

2nd Lt. Tucker Bone was drafted 20th overall by the Seattle Sounders in the MLS SuperDraft, which took place in Chicago Friday.

Bone was a star on a Falcons soccer team that went 17-5 overall, 8-2 in conference, and made a Sweet 16 appearance in 2018. He scored 17 points, led the team with 48 shots, and had two game-winning goals. He also earned USCA first-team All-American.

As for Bone’s pilot career, the Air Force will be watching him as a professional soccer player. Per the World Class Athletes Program, if he doesn’t progress over the first two seasons, he’ll return to finish his military service commitment.

Bone may start with the Sounders FC2, the Sounders reserve team based in Tacoma, Washington.
