Locally owned business in Pueblo launches registered apprenticeship program for plumbers

A locally owned business in Pueblo is launching its registered apprenticeship program.

Flow Right Plumbing Heating and Cooling held a launch Wednesday morning on the city’s west side of town.

The apprenticeship gives an opportunity for people to get their state license in plumbing or status as a journeyman or H-VAV professional.

Mayoral candidates, Steve Nawrocki and Nick Gradisar, were in attendance. They both told KRDO how important an apprenticeship like this is for creating jobs in Pueblo.

“It’s very important that our young people have an opportunity to learn some skills, not everybody is gonna go to college so these kind of programs are very important to our community because these young people can enroll in these programs and learn some marketable skills that will serve them with this company and other companies in the future,” said Nick Gradisar.

“I think it’s a perfect model for other private sector businesses and private companies in terms of realizing the importance…if you want good employees, grow em’ yourself,” said Steve Nawrocki.

The company also has an internship program which leads to the apprenticeship. For more information, click here.
