Ellicott High School teacher arrested after child porn investigation

An Ellicott High School teacher is facing a felony charge of sexual exploitation of a child after a child porn investigation by the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office.

The sheriff’s office says Patrick McMahon, 28, was arrested Monday at Ellicott High School after the investigation began in December. It’s not clear exactly what led to McMahon’s charge.

Ellicott School District Superintendent Chris Smith said no students were involved and the alleged crime didn’t happen on district property or on district time. The district is fully cooperating with the investigation, Smith said.

McMahon was booked on the sexual exploitation of a child charge and is being held without bond.
