More than 70 El Paso County deputies getting gear from Shield616

Shield616 has already outfitted every officer Colorado Springs Police Department with new tactical gear, and a big chunk of the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office will be getting the same treatment this week.

A special service will be held at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at New Life Church, where Shield616 will present more than 70 deputies with protective tactical gear.

The gear is paid for through donations to Shield616, and this is the largest presentation that the organization has made to a law enforcement agency to date, according to a news release from New Life Church.

Senior Pastor Brady Boyd will host a prayer service for the deputies following the presentation.
