Juvenile and father arrested in New Mexico in connection to Colorado murder

A juvenile and his father were arrested Thursday in New Mexico in connection to the murder of a Walsenburg woman killed in Colorado.

New Mexico police placed Heith Gleason and Gage Gleason under arrest around 11 a.m. on a fugitive arrest warrant for murder in the first degree.

A witness called KRDO saying a woman, who presumably could be 41-year-old Amy Garcia, was found shot inside a car that appeared to have been set on fire.

The Huerfano County Sheriff’s Department is also working with New Mexico police in this case. Huerfano deputies had received information the two were at McDonald’s in Santa Fe. When police arrived, they located the two in a grey Dodge truck.

The two were taken into custody without incident. Heith was booked into the Santa Fe County Adult Detention Center without bond. Gage was booked into the Santa Fe Youth Development Program.
