Man arrested after leaving scene of serious injury crash in Colorado Springs

A man was arrested Sunday night after leaving the scene of a serious injury crash in east Colorado Springs. The man was later found to be driving under the influence of drugs in a stolen truck.

Police arrived to the intersection of N. Circle Drive and E. Uintah Street and found a crash involving a Ford pick up truck and a Chrysler SUV.

The driver of the truck had run the red light for westbound Uintah and struck the Chrysler, which was traveling southbound on Circle Dr.

The driver of the truck left the scene on foot and the driver of the Chrysler was transported to the hospital with serious injuries.

A short time later police found the driver of the truck, 44-year-old Jarred Durham of Colorado Springs. Durham was charged with driving under the influence of drugs, driving a stolen vehicle, vehicular assault and leaving the scene of an accident involving serious injuries.

Durham was transported to the El Paso County Criminal Justice Center.
