Car crash brings powerlines down in Pueblo

Police in Pueblo are investigating a crash that occurred Sunday night in Pueblo County. A call came in around 10:25 p.m. about a man who struck a power pole at US 50 near Spaulding Avenue. The crash caused some power lines to fall close to the road.

The driver was taken to Parkview Medical Center in critical condition. At this time it is unknown if drugs and alcohol were involved in the crash.

US 50 was temporarily closed between Purcell Boulevard and McCulloch Boulevard while the scene is cleared, but has now reopened.
