2 armed robberies happen within blocks of each other in Colorado Springs Tuesday night

Between 6:50 and 7:22 Tuesday night, two businesses in East Colorado Springs experienced an armed robbery.

First armed robbery

The first happened at in the 3900 block of Palmer Park Blvd. Officers were dispatched to a business after reports of an armed robbery.

The investigation revealed a man entered the business, took out a gun and demanded cash from the register. He obtained an undisclosed amount of cash and then left the scene.

Second armed robbery

Less than an hour later and a few blocks away, another armed robbery happened in the 2500 block of E. Platte Ave. Upon arrival, officers learned about a man carrying a handgun, he demanded cash from the register and then left the area on foot with an undisclosed amount of money.

An employee on the scene describes the suspect as a black male, approximately 5’10, thin build, wearing a scarf over his face, gray hoodie, blue jeans and gloves carrying a handgun.

There is no word on if the two armed robberies are related.
