Colorado Springs ‘Festival of Lights Parade’ happens Saturday in downtown

The 34th Festival of Lights Parade in downtown Colorado Springs will be underway Saturday.

The annual event starts at 5:50 p.m. and starts on St. Vrain Street and will continue down Tejon and south to Vermijo Avenue.

The city is asking you to not park at the hooded meters during the parade, or your vehicle has the possibility of being towed. They are offering handicap parking on Bijou and Kiowa on both sides of Tejon. There are also five parking structures within a block of the parade route.

This year, the nonprofit organization is asking the public to assist in helping keep the tradition alive. Because the parade relies heavily on grants and sponsors to help fund things such as police overtime, cleanup, insurance, and band stipends, they are asking for donations.
