Poll finds more unaffiliated people voted this year

The 2018 post-election survey of unaffiliated voters from Magellan was released this week. The survey examined 500 Colorado unaffiliated voters over the phone.

Pollers describe their finding as extraordinary, saying in the past 20 years, they have never seen one political party be so overwhelmingly rejected.

According to the poll, unaffiliated voters are the largest and fastest growing affiliation in Colorado, which may have created Colorado’s “blue wave”.

Only time will tell if the 2018 election was an acceleration of the Republican party’s inability to win statewide elections in Colorado, or if there is now a new direction for the GOP.
