Colorado State Patrol to honor anniversary of Trooper Jaimie Jursevics’ death

The Colorado State Patrol will honor the life of Trooper Jaimie Jursevics with a special flag ceremony in Castle Rock.

On Nov. 15, 2015, Jursevics was hit by a driver on I-25 just south of Castle Rock while she was directing traffic around another crash.

Jursevics leaves behind a husband and young daughter.

The driver, later identified as retired Army Col. Eric Henderson, had been drinking and driving home from a Broncos game at the time of the crash.

Henderson pleaded guilty to charges of vehicular homicide and tampering with evidence. He was sentenced to 8 years in prison. He is also facing a wrongful death lawsuit filed by Jusevics husband. the bar that had been serving Henderson on the night of Jusevics death was named in the lawsuit as well.
