Colorado Springs Police arrest man after alleged assault, seize gun

Police received a call Wednesday from a man claiming he had a gun pointed at him.

Upon arrival to 4500 Gold Medal Point, police questioned the victim and the victim provided credible information to officers about 35-year-old Daniel Nail pointing a gun at him.

The victim said he and Nail had been in business together and he went to Nail’s apartment to collect money from him. Officers talked to Nail, in which he gave a conflicting statement.

A search warrant was obtained and officer eventually arrested Nail after seizing a firearm that was likely used in the menacing incident. Police also found drug paraphernalia, controlled substances that were packaged for sale and $3,800 in cash.

Police also discovered that Nail was a previous weapons offender.
