Woodland Park K-9 leads to bunch of drugs during traffic stop

Woodland Park police are thanking a very good boy for helping officers seize a variety of drugs during a traffic stop Tuesday.

Police say a corporal made the stop on a vehicle for a lane usage violation and noticed signs of narcotics use.

Other officers were called, including K-9 Rico. Rico alerted officers that there may be drugs in the vehicle, so it was towed to the department while a search warrant was obtained.

Police searched the car and found 70 grams of psilocybin mushrooms, one gram of heroin, four grams of crack cocaine, three ecstasy pills, a number of morphine pills, and a loaded handgun.

Police haven’t said if the suspect was taken into custody.
