Wisconsin company decides to give employees firearms for Christmas

A novelty glassware company that produces glassware embedded with a bullet, has decided to give every employee a handgun for Christmas.

USA Today reports, Ben Wolfgram, who co-owns Benshot, said the decision to gift guns came as a way to promote personal safety and team building.

The business has 16 full-time employees, including several veterans, but there are some employees who have never fired a gun.

Wolfgram said this the first time the company has done anything like this, and that most workers were excited about it.

Company executives are requiring employees to take a gun safety course before receiving the gun.

At least two employees initially declined the gift but are considering accepting it after taking the gun-safety course.

Wolfgram said he isn’t worried about workplace violence because his business has a small staff and all of the employees know each other well.

“For us, now, we have an entire armed staff,” he said. “I think that’s pretty good.”
