CSU- Pueblo welcomes honorary new player to their football team

It’s an inspiring story out of Pueblo: There’s a new member of the CSU-Pueblo football team. He might be young, but he’s teaching the rest of the team a thing or two about being tough.

The team welcomed 9-year-old Hudson into its ranks back in October. Hudson has been battling Leukemia and other health issues for almost two years.

The two came together thanks to The Friends of Jaclyn Foundation – a non-profit aimed at improving the lives of kids battling childhood cancers.

KRDO caught up with Hudson and his family at practice Friday as they prepared for their game against Western State.

“We have been blessed to be a part of all this finding out through ‘Friends of Jaclyn’ and getting involved and everything just went so fast and they adopted Hudson and Grant and it’s been an honor to be apart of it so far,” said Kari and Chad Hribar, Hudson’s parents.

“Just havin’ him here brings a spirit to all of us and hopefully helps bring his spirit up and just brings us all together as a family. And we enjoy having him around,” said James Parker, Thunder Wolve’s center.

Hudson also has down syndrome, but it’s never held him back. The team says it’s amazing watching his energy and the way he tackles new challenges.
