Suspects flee into woods after armed robberies on Gold Camp Road

Colorado Springs police say multiple people were robbed late Tuesday along Gold Camp Road, and two suspects ditched their accomplices in the getaway vehicle before running into the woods.

Officers were called to pull-off #6 on Gold Camp Road shortly before 11 p.m. to investigate a robbery call. Police found the victim coming down the road, who said the suspects were behind them.

Police stopped the vehicle behind the victim, and that’s when two of the people inside fled into the woods. Three other people were in the vehicle, and police detained them while investigating the car.

CSPD says they found evidence that the two suspects who ran were armed, so tactical officers and K-9 units were called to the area to search the woods. Both suspects are still on the loose.

Police said that at some point, a second set of victims arrived and said they had also been robbed by the same suspects.

No description of the suspects has been released, and it’s not clear if the three people in the vehicle were arrested.
