Wet, cloudy and cool – 10/24/18

Today: Buckle up for changing weather! This morning, we’re dealing with widespread clouds and patches of fog. Visibility should improve by noon, but there will still be cloudy skies. Additionally, there is some drizzle and light rain. Pack the umbrella and rain jacket! Keep in mind, there could be some slick spots on the road as oil mixes with the rain. Highs will be cool today – roughly ranging in the 40s and 50s across southern Colorado. Showers will be moving from the west towards the east later tonight. Some fog could redevelop for some areas along and east of the I-25 corridor between Colorado Springs and Pueblo tonight, but that fog will be retreating to the eastern plains overnight.

Tonight: Overnight, areas of fog are possible. Showers will be ending. Lows drop to the 30s and 40s.

Extended: Fog Thursday morning on the plains clears by 9 a.m. Partly cloudy skies are expected thereafter with highs rebounding to the 60s and 70s. Temperatures stay relatively warm through Saturday. A cold front (earlier in the week, we were expecting this front Saturday. The cold air has slowed down and won’t arrive until Sunday morning) will drop temperatures for the second half of the weekend. Sunshine is on tap for the area Saturday and Sunday. Showers return to the forecast by next Tuesday.
