El Paso deputies arrest second suspect in homicide east of Colorado Springs

The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office has made a second arrest in October 7th murder committed on the 6400 block of Tranters Creek Way.

Police have arrested 19-year-old Beslim Torres-Valle. He has been booked into the Criminal Justice Center on first-degree murder charges without bond. Deputies have also arrested 20-year-old Tyler Lee Wheeler. He is also facing first-degree murder charges in the murder of Kenyatta Horne.

Deputies have arrested 20-year-old Tyler Lee Wheeler in connection to a murder that happened late Sunday night in the 6400 block of Tranters Creek Way.

Wheeler is charged with first-degree murder and was booked into the Criminal Justice Center and is being held without bond.

The identity of the victim will not be released until positive identification has been made by the coroner’s office and the next of kin has been notified.

The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office identified the victim killed in the October 7, 2018 homicide Thursday.

EPCSO says Kenyatta Horne was killed near the 6400th block of Tranters Creek Way that Sunday. Deputies were called to the scene around 11:02 p.m. after calls of multiple shots being fired and a male party was lying on the sidewalk.

When multiple units responded, the found Horne unconscious and not breathing. They immediately began attempting to revive Horne but were unsuccessful. The victim reported having died from his injuries.

In a post made to the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office’s official Twitter, deputies wanted to express their deepest condolences for Mr. Horne’s friends and family at this time.
