Police identify victim in SE Colorado Springs shooting, arrest suspect

Colorado Springs police say they have a person in custody for a murder that happened Tuesday night at the Pine Creek Village apartment complex.

The shooting happened around 10 p.m. along Chapman Drive, and CSPD said Thursday it was 39-year-old Raymond Daniel McCall who was killed.

It’s not clear what led to the shooting, but witnesses said McCall was walking his dog when he was shot.

Police arrested 41-year-old Jeremy Dewayne Jones for first-degree murder. A mugshot is expected to be released soon.

CSPD says this is the 25th homicide in the city so far this year; at this point last year, there were 21 homicides.
