Colorado Springs police arrest suspect in connection to early morning stabbing

The Colorado Springs Police Department arrested a suspect believed to be involved in a stabbing which took place at the 1300th block of South Royer Street around 8:30 a.m. Tuesday.

Police arrested 33-year-old Grant Alexander Smith on 1st-degree assault and harassment charges. Smith was located around E. Las Vegas Street and S. Nevada Avenue roughly three hours following the incident.

Once CSPD arrived at the scene, an injured victim was taken to a nearby hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Police say at least three people were involved in the incident.
