Showers and storms return – 8/31/18

TODAY: We start the day off with more clouds than sunshine and mainly dry skies. Things will also be feeling really mild for the early part of the day. Between 12 and 3PM, showers and storms develop and begin to push east through the afternoon and evening hours. Some of our storms closer to the Kansas border could become strong, but widespread severe weather in those areas is not expected at all. Highs today will still be warm and will climb to the 80s and 90s with 70s over the mountains.

TONIGHT: Showers and storms wrap up by midnight and we are left with a mostly cloudy, mainly dry sky. Lows will be in the 50s to low 60s, with 40s in the mountains if we see enough cloud breaks.

EXTENDED: Highs look pretty cool going into Labor Day weekend. We should only be in the 70s and 80s with 60s for the mountains. This is thanks to increased rain and storms. Our rainiest day between Saturday and Monday looks to be Saturday afternoon. Some of the storms that develop that day will likely become strong to severe. Storm chances remain scattered into next week. High temperatures will be staying cool.
