Marty’s Sunday Morning Forecast – Very Warm Again – 8/26/18

Today: Partly cloudy this morning, breezy with isolated showers and thunderstorms developing this afternoon. Storms today aren’t likely to be strong, but a few could produce localized downpours, gusty wind and frequent lightning. High temperatures this afternoon will again reach the 80s and 90s for the plains, mainly 70s over the mountains.

Tonight: Any evening thunderstorms will end, and then mostly clear with low temperatures in the 50s and 60s for the plains, 40s and 50s over the mountains.

Extended: Starting Monday it appears storms will be few and far between for some time. We’ll stay very warm and breezy on Monday, then cooler on Tuesday. The cold front that arrives on Tuesday might bring spotty showers and/or weak thunderstorms to a few areas, but we don’t look to receive widespread rainfall with the cooler air. The air will begin to warm again through the end of the week. Overall we do not expect much rain for most areas, but slight chances for thunderstorms will exist over and near the mountains occasionally.
