Woodland Park students join new superintendent for first day

Wednesday was the first day of school for Woodland Park, bringing a few changes to the district, including a whole different start to the day for those at Woodland Park High School.

There’s always a bit of reluctance and hesitation on the first day of school, especially when it’s a new school. But freshmen aren’t the only ones new to WPHS this year.

Superintendent Steve Woolf joins the almost entirely new leadership team at the high school.

“I’m swimming. We’re in it here and it’s a wonderful paradise, especially here in Woodland Park,” said Woolf.

A new principal has also taken over at the high school.

“It’s a great day to be a Woodland Park Panther. The first day of school is always the best,” said new principal Kevin Burr.

Students were welcomed in with a large assembly and pep rally before classes started, giving the incoming freshmen the ability to see what the high school is all about.
