Firefighters respond to fire in northeast Colorado Springs

The Colorado Springs Fire Department responded to a fire in northeast Colorado Springs Wednesday morning.

The fire on Amberly Drive was put out shortly after crews arrived. The home belongs to one adult and two children, all of which were not home during the fire.

The fire started in the garage after some mail caught fire. A passerby in the area called in the fire while on a walk.

Authorities say there is fire damage in the garage and smoke damage in the house. It is undetermined if the house is livable.
