Strong to severe storms return – 8/21/18

TODAY: We start the day with dry skies and areas of smoke. Scattered showers and storms will be ongoing in the central mountains and places north toward Denver. By 12PM, our shower and storm chances start to increase. First to the west of I-25 and then they push east through the afternoon and evening. Favored areas for severe weather look to be around Las Animas County and the far Southeast Plains. Hail, gusty winds and flash flooding will be the primary concerns. A rotating storm is possible over the far SE plains.

TONIGHT: We will still see lingering showers and storms around the area. Lows cool to the 40s and 50s.

EXTENDED: More strong to severe storms are possible over the next couple of days before moisture chances will start to decrease through the weekend. Isolated showers and storms are possible Friday through Sunday, with mostly dry skies on Monday.
