Quiet and below-average – 08/19/18

Tonight: Partly cloudy skies are expected this evening in southern Colorado. Generally, we’re tracking mild and quiet weather as high pressure develops over the area (high means we stay mostly dry!). As the storm system that impacted us yesterday tracks off to the east, we’ll have northerly winds on the backside of that low. That will keep temperatures below-average. It will also dry us out; we only have a slight chance for spotty storms, and these shouldn’t become severe. Overnight, mostly cloudy skies are forecasted. Lows drop to the 40s and 50s. It will be crisp early Monday!

Tomorrow: Sunshine and clouds are expected tomorrow. There could still be some haze in the state due to fires in Canada and along the west coast. Only isolated storms are possible tomorrow. High pressure will keep things mainly calm. Temperatures remain below-the-norm with highs in the 70s and 80s.

Extended: Starting Tuesday, we have the return of daily chances of thunderstorms. Keep the umbrella handy for the rest of your seven day forecast! We’ll have to stay vigilant, watching for any flash flooding that could possibly arise over the recent, vulnerable burn scars. On top of that, there could be times of strong-to-severe storms particularly Tuesday through Thursday. On those days, it will be possible to experience large hail and damaging gusts. However, this forecast still has time to change. Stick with us!
